Case study on Behance: link

This project was a 3-month design agency class at ASU, where my team worked with Deep Sea Valkyries, a trauma-therapy nonprofit for veterans and first responders. When they came to us, their biggest challenge was visibility. They had almost no organic search traffic, and most people found them only through word of mouth. Their website also had structural issues with broken layouts, scattered content, and inconsistent visuals. These problems made it difficult for both users and search engines to understand what the organization offered.

As part of the SEO team, I helped analyze how potential patients search for trauma support and how our redesign could meet those expectations. We worked across content, structure, and technical clarity to make the website easier to find and easier to understand.

Our SEO strategy:

  1. Researched user search intent and contributed to the keyword strategy.

  2. Refined titles, headings, and page content to create a clear hierarchy and improve scannability.

  3. Added meta titles and meta tags to each page.

  4. Reorganized and combined pages to create clearer navigation and a more coherent story.

  5. Strengthened trust signals to support long-term credibility and reputation.

  6. Created a handoff guideline to help the client maintain the site effectively in the future.
